ACCIDENTAL SPY JACKIE CHAN FILM GENRE MOVIE

When they attempt to rob a jewelry store he springs into action and this gets his picture in the news. One day he happens to see some suspicious people nearby and follows them. 'Buck Yuen' (Jackie Chan) is an employee of a small exercise equipment shop in Hong Kong. The action is good but there needed to be more of it, the plot works well enough to provide movement but is perhaps too messy for its own good and, all in all, it is one for Chan lovers looking for relief rather than the wider viewing public.

Overall a pretty average film but remarkably is worth seeing if only because many of Jackie Chan's recent films have been so damn awful. Tsang, Hsu and others don't make much of an impression but at least they aren't that bad. Support is better than it often is in this sort of thing В– normally Chan's support are rather vapid and are badly dubbed at best. Sure he is not all that he was but he still makes the film better than it deserves to be. Chan himself is pretty amiable and brings his usual comedy and physical antics to the film. Fans will maybe still enjoy aspects of it but it is unlikely to win over many new ones (although it is still much better than Tuxedo). This also takes away from action time and, while the action is mostly pretty good fun, you can't help but feel that there should have been more of it. However this is not to say that it is that engaging because it does try to do too much and lacks real focus. The basic plot is interesting enough and provides some globe trotting action with some good location filming. While this film is far from being a classic it is actually a reasonable film that isn't terrible by any means. Although any Jackie Chan film of recent years brings with it a certain amount of fear and hesitation given the sort of dross that he has been involved in over the past few years.

His inheritance is dependant on Bei finding his way through a riddle thinking money is his goal Bei is shocked to find himself drawn into an international conspiracy that puts him in harms way. With his father dying Bei has little time В– time that is at an end when his father dies. When his heroics bring him to the attention of the nation, he is approached by private investigator Liu who tells him that he may be the long lost son of a Korean businessman. The weak point here are the fights, which are rather limited compared to what Jackie normally delivers, but otherwise this is a fitting swansong for Jackie's career with Golden Harvest.Д«ei is a salesman and a pretty poor one at that, however he does have good instincts В– instincts that lead him to act when he witnesses a bank robbery in progress. The naked chase and the climax are still the best parts, but the story hangs together better.

I recently had the pleasure of watching the unWeinsteined version of this movie namely the Hong Kong DVD, without the 20 minutes cut out and in the original language. It's as funny and exciting as it sounds, and a perfect finale to this kind of movie. The ending, which rips off SPEED, is also rather good, as our heroes contend with a burning fuel tanker which can't slow down, or it'll explode. The highlight of the film has to be the scene in which a starkers Chan is pursued by myriad bad guys all intent on giving him a good hiding the stunts here have to be seen to be believed. Yet Jackie is his usual charismatic self and the action, when it comes, is as you would expect: fast, frenetic and always furious. The plot is the worst thing about the movie, with CIA agents coming and going, femme fatales with mixed motives and an unexpected suicide which sits out-of-tone with the rest of the movie. Jackie Chan returned to Hong Kong to shoot this predictable thriller which really is interchangeable with the last five movies he made in that country (WHO AM I?, FIRST STRIKE, etc.) but nevertheless provides a barrel-load of laughs and action in a braindead, but fun adventure.
